Vegetable Market to dot Pahadi Shareef soon as proposal got governments’ nod

The Jalpally Municipality would soon witnessed a fully functional vegetable market at Pahadi Shareef as the proposal in this regard has already got the approval of the government and the officials are vigorously working on the modalities to ground the project.

Interestingly, the Jalpally Municipality is more fortunate than the neighbouring Shamshabad Municipality in securing a Vegetable market with same day approval of the collector unlike the case of former whose proposal is still pending with the government.

According to officials, the proposed Market would come up on an area of one acre at police ground in Pahadi Shareef under Jalpally Municipality. Collector Rangareddy District Amoy Kumar along with other senior officials have visited the place two weeks ago and approved the proposal after checking the feasibility of the proposal.

“The Revenue Department cleared one acre of land at Police Ground for the development of Model Market while the government gave its nod to the project allocating fund to the tune of Rs.25 lakhs. There were some suggestions against the present location of the market at Police Ground but it is by and large a better place to promote vegetable market as we don’t have sufficient space for the same any other location. To get first hand appraisal of the location, the Collector Rangareddy Amoy Kumar along with other senior officials have visited the spot two weeks back gave an impromptu approval to the project,” informed the sources.

Spread over an area of 30 square kilometers with a mixed population of around 80,374 (as per 2011 census), the Jalpally municipality has curved out in the year 2016 by merging four Gram Pachayats such as Jalpally, Pahadi Shareef, Balapur and Kottapet. Together the Jalpally carries around 23,961 families in the Municipality limits that divided into different socio-economic groups.

Unlike Shamshabad and other municipalities where the vegetable markets are already available for the local people, the Jalpally doesn’t have any such facility in its purview to serve the people with fresh veggies. People here largely count on neighbouring markets to get fresh and leafy veggies in the absence of vegetable market. As such, the demand for having a similar market gain prominence and proportionately increased after the formation of Jalpally Municipality in the year 2016.

Feeling the yawning necessity of a vegetable market the municipality officials pick the idea soon to have a similar one at Jalpally after the government planned to promote vegetable markets in all the municipalities.
