Walking and Cycling track for Women to dot Jalpally municipality soon

As part of the Jalpally Lake Beautification Project, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has planned a walking and cycling track at the cargo road near the Lake in Jalpally municipality under Maheshwaram constituency.

It is said that, a two kilometres long ‘Walking and Cycling’ track from Desi Dhaba to Padmaja Farm House on Cargo road in Maheshwaram constituency will be shaped with a fund to the tune of Rs.65 Lakhs under Lake Beautification Project.

According to officials, the works will be grounded next month as the authorities from Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and Jalpally municipality have gone into huddle to discuss the plan and the modalities in length.

Later, the Minister of Education P.Sabita Indra Reddy, who is also representing the Maheshwaram Constituency, has recently inspected the stretch by physically walking on the proposed project line upto two kilometer. It is learnt that the minister has instructed the officials to carefully plan the project and make it convenient for the ladies of Jalpally and surrounding areas to utilise the facility that helps them improve their health.

Taking care of health, she said, has gained prominence these days due to work stress, seasonal ailments and recurrent contagions these days. “People, especially the women and ladies should emulate a sense of walking and cycling on a daily basis to keep themselves fit and healthy every day,” she asserted.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Jalpally Municipality G.P.Kumar, said, “Routine walking is good to keep the body fit for daily work. People, especially the women and girls should make walking a habit to avoid stress over their mind and body. It is against this background, the HMDA has planned a walking and cycling track at the cargo road to facilitate the women and girls of nearby areas with such a health care facility.

Elucidating about the development works being approved for the Jalpally municipality, the Commissioner G.P.Kumar said, “So far, a total fund to the tune of Rs.120 crores has been sanction this year for the development works in the municipality on the representation of Minister Sabita Indra Reddy.”

He further explained that “Apart from Rs.2.5 crores under 15th Finance and Rs.3 crores under 14th Finance, another Rs.79 crores has been sanctioned for water supply from HMWS&SB. Under TUFIDC, 15 works to the tune of Rs.10 crores has been sanctioned. Besides, HMDA has approved 14 CC Roads and drainage works costing Rs.7 crores. Tenders have been called to construct a road from Pahadi Shareef to Mamidipally with Rs.3.10 crore with a fund sanctioned by TSIIC.”
