Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao today alleged that the State government had handcuffed farmers and later launched ‘Rythu Bandhu’ for the sake of their votes. He reminded that the police had handcuffed one farmer Rajaiah when he asked for land patta passbook in Huzurabad.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, VH said he had assured Rajaiah that the Congress would extend support to him. Reminding Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s suggestion to people beat officials with chappal if demanded bribes, VH said there were no such incidents during Congress regime for decades. He also warned IT Minister KT Ramarao to control his tongue. (NSS)
