Hyderabad: A worker hails from the Jagtial Dist of Telangana State stranded in Dubai from 4 years. Volunteers of Pravasi Mithra Labour Union are guided to his wife to represent the same to the Collector urging him to ensure that her husband rescue and safely repatriate to his native place.

According to her representation which her wife Jyothi handed over to the Collector, Mulkala Sathyam hails from Nakkalapeta village in Dharmapuri Mandal of Jagtial district and was stranded in Dubai for four years.

Jyothi Pointed out in the representation that four years ago, on July 30, 2016, an agent sent her husband from Mumbai to Muscat, the capital of Oman, on a work visa as a construction worker for a company called Al Turki. But in August 2016, however, a contractor sent him from Oman to UAE by crossing the land border illegally. She said that her husband had been living in Dubai as an irregular migrant for the past four years. He has been sitting idle for the past five months due to the Corona situation. No work, no salary, He is unable to pay the room rent and unable to purchase the groceries.

She requested the Indian Consulate in Dubai to issue an Emergency Certificate (Temporary Passport / Out Pass)  to Sathyam by verifying old Passport and Aadhaar Card proofs to prove his Indian Citizenship.

Satyam is not one case, hundreds of cross-border Indian emigrants from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh including women domestic workers are in dwindling situations in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman in UAE who came from Oman illegally, said  Swadesh Parkipandla, President, Pravasi Mithra Labour Union. UAE Government declared a short term amnesty in view of the Corona pandemic situation which will end on 18th August 2020. The amnesty includes all illegal residents and visitors who wish to exit the U.A.E. Swadesh requested the Government of India to negotiate with all Gulf nations regarding the safe repatriation of irregular and regular migrants.
