Yellow Alert For Karnataka; IMD Warns Heavy Rainfalls And Thunderstorms

The latest updates from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rains and thunderstorms in Karnataka on July 20 and 21.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert In Karnataka 

C.S Patil, IMD Director Bengaluru on Monday said that they have issued a Yellow alert in the coastal districts of Karnataka. At the same time, IMP has predicted that thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will be hitting Uttara, Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada districts on July 20 and 21.

IMD further predicted Dharwad, Koppala, Bellary, Haveri, and Belagaavi districts in the north Karnataka Chitradurga, Davanagere districts are also going to witness heavy rainfall. Patil further stated that Bengaluru, Shivamogga, Hassan, Tumkur, and Kodagu districts in South Karnataka will be affected by the heavy rains for the coming two days.

Gurugrams Faces Severe Water Logging After Heavy Overnight Rains 

The above prediction comes after Gurugram gets swamped under severe waterlogging on Monday morning after an overnight rainfall. Following this, many of the residents took to social media to share the images of flooded housing complexes and lashed out at the city’s municipal corporation and bad infrastructure.

Reports suggest that the road in the Gurugram’s Sector 65, a crucial connectivity route near Artemis Hospital in Sector 52 is completely waterlogged. Some of the people on Twitter slammed the ML Khattar government for “making Gurgaon the Germany of India in all the wrong ways”.

Earlier on Sunday, the IMD predicted that Gurugram would get heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days. Following this, the department had issued an orange alert for Monday and Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Delhi has also suffered through severe waterlogging and registered 70 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours. The IMD predicted that the city would have light to moderate intensity rain over Delhi and the NCR.
