The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rainfall across Telangana for the next three days, with temperatures in the state set to dip further during this period. According to IMD officials, the region is expected to experience a 2° to 3° Celsius drop in temperature as the weather system moves in.
The cold front has already been felt across the state, with some areas experiencing significant drops in minimum temperatures. On Friday, Asifabad district recorded the coldest temperature in Telangana, with a minimum of 8.1° Celsius. Other districts in the northern region also saw similar chilly conditions, with Sangareddy and Adilabad both recording a minimum temperature of 8.2° Celsius.
In contrast, the state capital, Hyderabad, recorded a relatively milder minimum temperature of 15.5° Celsius. However, neighboring districts experienced cooler weather. Rangareddy saw temperatures drop to 11.1° Celsius, while Malkajgiri recorded 13.3° Celsius.

As the weather system brings rain and cooler temperatures, IMD officials are advising residents to stay prepared for potential disruptions. The yellow alert serves as a cautionary measure, indicating that there is a possibility of moderate rainfall that could affect daily activities, especially in the coming days.
The expected drop in temperatures is also likely to intensify the chill across the state, prompting residents to take necessary precautions, particularly in the mornings and evenings when temperatures are at their lowest.
The ongoing weather system is also expected to bring some relief to the state’s agricultural sector, which has been grappling with the effects of high temperatures in recent months. The rain may benefit crops, especially in the northern and central parts of Telangana, which have experienced dry conditions.
Overall, while the upcoming rainfall and temperature dip may provide some relief from the heat, residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take appropriate measures to stay safe during this chilly spell.
