Youtube Removes Nearly A Million Videos of misinformation spreading on Covid-19 vaccine

With the rising misinformation about the Covid-19, Youtube has reportedly removed over 30,000 videos for the same. The time period has been since the past six months.

Any Information Against WHO Issued Guidelines Is Misinformation

As per the latest reports, since February 2020, Youtube has removed over 800,000 videos for spreading misinformation about Covid 19. The videos first get flagged either by the company’s AI review system or by the comments under the video. Then after a second review, they are taken down if necessary.
The misinformation about the Covid 19 is identified if they go by the rules and regulations released by the World Health Organization. Any video that goes against the same or contradict the rules are the ones that violate Youtube’s policy. This further leads to removing the video from the platform.

Social Media Platforms Also Restrain Covid Misinformation

Apart from Youtube, Facebook and Twitter also have introduced policies in the past few months to restrict the misinformation about the Coronavirus and the vaccines. Recently Twitter rolled out a policy to remove any tweet that spreads misinformation about the Covid 19. And more than 5 strikes will lead to permanent suspension of the account.
Twitter said in a statement that ever since the WHO released the Covid 19 guidelines, they have removed over 8400 tweets and warned over 11.5 million accounts across the world.
Since introducing the Covid-19 guidance, Twitter said it has removed more than 8,400 tweets and challenged 11.5 million accounts worldwide.
