YS Jagan Asks Officials to Improve Conditions in Universities

The Chief Minister of the State YS Jaganmohan Reddy today asked the officials of the state government to improve standards in all the universities of the state. He asked the officials to prepare an action plan for improving them. The CM held a review meeting on the status of higher education at his camp office.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the standards should be improved with an objective to help the students of the state and added that the universities of the state should secure a place in the top ten universities of the country. He asked the officials to prepare plans for the improvement of standards in JNTU, Andhra university, SV University, Padmavati Mahila University, and Triple IT in the state and submit proposals for sanction of funds.

He also asked them to put a special focus on the upcoming Architecture University in Kadapa. He asked the officials to study the universities which have grabbed good NIRF rankings. He also asked them to study the policies followed by foreign universities and introduce the same in the universities of the state. He said that the focus should also be on linking the curriculum followed by the foreign universities. The CM also held a review meeting on triple ITs of the state.

The officials told the CM that the triple ITs have 22946 students. The CM asked them to complete the construction of the triple ITs in Srikakulam and Ongole. He alleged that the erstwhile rulers of the state had ignored the triple ITs and diverted Rs.180 crores belonging to them.
