Trisha Krishnan Signature campaign against child labour

Chennai: Actress Trisha Krishnan today part of a signature campaign-cum-rally marking World Day against Child Labour organised by the UNICEF India and the Tamil Nadu Govt in Chennai.

Trisha Krishnan was appointed as the UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for child rights.

Department in coordination with UNICEF to mark the World Day against Child Labour at Park here, she said ”the little amount that child labourers receive, causes them to lose their future, which in fact, is a huge loss that we as a society cannot afford”.

According to UNICEF, most of the children were employed because they could be exploited and it was in such workplaces there were many cases of sexual abuse against children. ”It is unacceptable to see these children in such unsafe environment exposed to such hazardous situation”, she added. Ms Trisha, who is also the UNICEF Celebrity Advocate, said “children are employed as they can be easily exploited.
