17 States To Get Monthly Revenue Deficit Grant

In the latest updates, 17 states are to get Rs 9,871 crore as the tenth installment of the month-to-month Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD).

Rs 98,710 Crores Already Delivered

Up to this point, a measure of Rs 98,710 crore has been delivered to qualified States as Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant in the current monetary year, according to the Department regarding Expenditure, Ministry of Finance on Thursday.

These states are – – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grants are given to the States under Article 275 of the Constitution. The awards are delivered to the States according to the suggestions of the Fifteenth Finance Commission to meet the hole in Revenue Accounts of the States post devolution. The Commission has prescribed PDRD awards to 17 States and the equivalent is being delivered in regularly scheduled payments.

States Chosen By Commission 

The qualification of States to get this award and the quantum of award was chosen by the Commission dependent on the hole between appraisal of income and consumption of the State in the wake of considering the evaluated devolution for the monetary year 2021-22.

The Fifteenth Finance Commission has suggested a complete Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs 1,18,452 crore to 17 States in the monetary year 2021-22. Out of this, a measure of Rs 98,710 crore (83.33 percent) has been delivered up until this point.
