2-day global summit to be hosted By Hyderabad on Reimagining Museums

As per the latest reports, Hyderabad will host a 2-day global summit on Reimagining Museums which will be attended by a large number of countries.

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India is hosting a first-of-its-kind, two-day global summit on Reimagining Museums in India, in Hyderabad.

Participants from Australia, France, Italy, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom will attend the event, which will take place on February 15 and 16.

The summit, which is being organized by Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, will bring together leading luminaries, domain experts, and practitioners in the field of museum development and management from India and around the globe to discuss best practices and strategies.

Over 25 museologists and museum professionals from around the world will delve into reimagined museum priorities and practices in order to create a blueprint for the development of new museums, nurture a renewal framework, and revitalize existing museums.

The online summit will cover four major topics: architecture and functional needs, management, collections (including curation and conservation practices), and education and audience engagement.

Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of the North-eastern Region (DoNER) spoke about the summit, saying, “Over the past seven years, there has been a stronger focus to establish new museums with engaging exhibits and content, leveraging modern technologies such as digital, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality. We have also made significant investments in upgrading existing museums so that they remain relevant to the next generation.”

Museums, as repositories of our civilization’s history, play an important role in the preservation and sharing of our cultural heritage to future generations.

“India’s 1000+ museums are instrumental in not only showcasing and preserving this cultural heritage but also educating future generations,” said Union Minister of Culture G. Kishan Reddy.
