Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar early this morning conducted a cordon-and-search operation in Chintalmet and several residential colonies on the city outskirts and took 20 suspects, including 10 rowdy sheeters. The police also seized 30 vehicles, including one car and four auto rickshaws for not having valid documents.
Speaking to the media later, Shamshabad Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Reddy said they were trying to maintain peace, law and order by conducting condon and search drive in the capital city. With these searches, the people in the twin cities and on the outskirts were leading peaceful life.
Prakash Reddy said some 200 police personnel were drafted for the cordon and search drive and they visited every house and enquired whether new tenants were residing. Ten rowdy sheeters and ten suspects were taken into custody for questioning. All of them found to have contacts with criminals after verification. (NSS)
