In a major development concerning the safety of high-profile figures, a 20-year-old man was arrested in Noida for issuing death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, a Maharashtra MLA and son of late Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique. The arrest, made by Mumbai Police, follows weeks of heightened security and investigation in response to a string of threats directed toward both Khan and Siddiqui.
Mumbai Police have taken Gufran Khan, the arrested suspect, into custody and have placed him under transit remand for further investigation in Mumbai. Police sources indicated that Siddiqui’s office, based in Bandra, received threatening messages on Friday evening, warning of potential violence toward Salman Khan and MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui unless a ransom was paid. Following the receipt of these threats, Siddiqui’s staff immediately filed a complaint, prompting the authorities to begin their investigation.
The police traced the initial threats back to a man identified as Mohammed Tayyab, who has since been apprehended in connection with the threats. The investigation revealed that the ransom demand had reached Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office through messages, underscoring the seriousness of the threats. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have also arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable vendor from Jamshedpur, for allegedly sending a threatening message demanding ₹5 crore as ransom via a WhatsApp message to the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline.

This is not the first time Salman Khan has been targeted. In April, suspected members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home. Following these incidents, security for Khan has been ramped up, with increased vigilance from both police and private security teams.
The recent threats to Zeeshan Siddiqui follow the tragic death of his father, Baba Siddique, an influential NCP leader affiliated with the Ajit Pawar faction. Known for his close relationship with Salman Khan, Baba Siddique was fatally shot on October 12 near Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai. The attack on Siddiqui has intensified scrutiny on security arrangements for both his family and associates, particularly in light of subsequent threats. The connection between the threats to Siddiqui and Khan with the attack on Baba Siddique remains under investigation.
