Hyderabad: In the first phase of local bodies polls, 2104 nominations were filed by candidates, for 197 ZPTC posts and 15306 candidates filed nominations for 2166 MPTCs.
Party wise candidates who filed nominations for ZPTCs are – TRS 748, cong 551, BJP 276, TDP 80, CPM 66, CPI 34, YCP 3 and Independents 301, also 45 from other parties recognised by EC at other states.
Similarly, the MPTC candidates in fray are– TRS 5762, Cong 4178, BJP 1576, CPM 284, TDP 227, CPI 182, MIM, YCP one each, other parties 113 and 2712 independents. (NSS)
