Mancherial: Twenty-five passengers received simple injuries, five of them critical, today when an RTC bus hit a culvert near Jaipur Power Plant in Mancherial district and swerved on one side. The mishap took place due to the negligence of the driver, who took to his heels.
Eye-witnesses said some 45 to 50 passengers are travelling in the bus. While the bus was proceeding towards Chennur, the driver tried to overtake a two-wheeler and hit the culvert. While 25 commuters sustained simple injuries, five of them were injured grievously. While the driver fled the spot, the bus conductor Ashanna was injured grievously. All the injured were shifted to Mancherial District General Hospital by 108 vehicle.
Two days ago, an RTC bus belonging to Godavarikhani depot, which was going to Bhupalpally overturned near PV Nagar in which 23 passengers out of 60 were injured. (NSS)
