Hyderabad : Dana Kishore, DEO, has said the GHMC has taken up special drives since the last three days and removed posters, banners, wall paintings and publicity materials relating to elections. He said over 28,000 publicity materials were removed from the public properties and 19,000 materials from the private properties in Hyderabad District comprising 15 Assembly Constituencies.
Dana Kishore said flying squads, along with the surveillance teams were going round the areas and removing all the publicity materials. He said the flying squads and surveillance teams seized Rs 10 lakh in Charminar and Malakpet ACs as per the inspections conducted by them from October 26 to October morning. He appealed to all the representatives of various political parties to coordinate with the GHMC for strict implementation of model code of conduct rules prescribed by the ECI and maintain proper coordination without giving any inconvenience to the citizens. The meetings, campaigns, padayatras should be conducted by the political parties after taking permissions from the officials concerned in advance, he added. (NSS)
