Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said the State government will fill 459 posts of Veterinary Assistants to provide improve health services to cattle population in the State.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat here today, he said Rs 23 crore were released to strengthen the veterinary hospitals by renovation and repairs works. He said that the Call Center (Toll Free No. 1962) run by the GVK for availing the Mobile Veterinary clinic services is overload. To set right the problem it was decided to double the seat number to 20 from 10 and provide better services. With this around 5,000 calls can be attended, he clarified.
Srinivas Yadav said with the completion of 2nd year of Sheep distribution programme, the demand of Mobile Veterinary clinics will increase to 400 numbers. Right now the department has 100 vans and providing mobile health services. (NSS)
