84th All-India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish) Set to Open on January 3 with Enhanced Arrangements

The 84th All-India Industrial Exhibition, also known as Numaish, is set to open its doors on January 3, following a slight delay from the originally scheduled date of January 1. The decision to postpone the formal inauguration was made in respect of the seven-day national mourning declared by the Union Government after the passing of former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Numaish, one of the most anticipated events in Hyderabad, will feature over 2,000 stalls showcasing a diverse range of products, including clothing, food, accessories, and household essentials. Traders from various regions of India, including Jammu Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Lucknow, Odisha, and more, will present their offerings. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to witness a wide variety of handicrafts, handlooms, and industrial products that reflect India’s rich artistry and craftsmanship. Around 1,500 exhibitors, including State and Central government departments, are expected to participate in the event.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the exhibition, which will run until February 15. The exhibition will be open to visitors from 4 pm to 10:30 pm on weekdays, with extended hours until 11 pm on weekends and public holidays.

In a briefing about the arrangements for the 45-day-long exhibition, D Suresh Kumar, convener of the exhibition society, outlined several significant improvements compared to previous years. New walkways have been designed to better accommodate wheelchair users, women, and senior citizens. Additionally, a state-of-the-art firefighting system has been installed, along with CCTV cameras to enhance security. Other amenities include an ATM, a health dispensary, a 24/7 ambulance, and mobile toilets strategically placed across the venue. As in previous years, special priority has been given to women-managed stalls, which will be located in prime areas.

This year, heightened attention has been paid to safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all visitors. In response to expected crowds, Hyderabad Metro Rail will operate additional trains with increased frequency, and the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will run special buses to transport visitors to and from the venue.

The Numaish exhibition has become a cultural and commercial staple for Hyderabad, and with the improvements made this year, it promises to offer an even better experience for attendees.
