Hyderabad: Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said that Aasara pensions will be given to 57 years old people. Addressing a program at Nalgonda the minister said that the pensions are being offered to all poor and eligible in Telangana. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has doubled the pension amount to Rs 2016 and 3016 from existing Rs 1000 and Rs 1500 for normal and disabled pensioners. Thus he attributed the hike to the statehood for Telangana and vision of KCR.
Our chief minister is spending huge funds Rs 12000 cr for pensions and Rs 45000 cr welfare in the state. Telangana is only the state in the country to spend such huge funds for public welfare he said. The minister claimed that KCR government is providing safe waters to poor in villages, 9 hour power to farmers, launched Kaleshwaram project to irrigate 45 lakh acres and drinking waters en route and Hyderabad.
