A group of ABVP activists was caned by the police who tried to block the state minister’s car who was on the way to the district headquarters in Dhule, Maharashtra the officials said.
The animal husbandry minister was on his way to the Dhule Collectorate, where the incident occurred nearby.
When a group of activists who belonged to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) the students party of the Bharatiya Janata Party had attempted to stop the Maharashtra minister’s car. And were stopped by the police.
They were caned by the police to disperse the crowd when they didn’t back down demanding that student’s fees should be renounced in the view of the lockdown.
A lot of the ABVP activists were detained by the police for some time till the minister left the area.
The BJP has strongly disagreed with the action taken against the students and demanded that action should be taken against the policemen involved in the matter.
