Hyderabad: The ABVP activists on Thursday submitted a representation to the DGP urging him to ban students organisations that have links with banned Maoists in the State. They also alleged that some students’ organizations were trying to turn innocent students into naxalites in the State by spreading their ideology.
A delegation consisting of ABVP activists Kiran, P Srihari, Praveen Reddy and others called on the DGP and submitted the representation. They alleged that an organization by name Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika had enrolled some students of the university as its members and took them to Bhadrachalam to meet banned Maoists in the name of study tours. The activists claimed that the DGP had assured them of taking suitable action on their representation and added that the DGP had also told them that they would not tolerate any such banned activity in the state.
