Acharya opens Mahatma Memorial Computer Lab at Dr MCR HRD Institute

Hyderabad : BP Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary & Director-General of Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, inaugurated “Mahatma Memorial Computer Lab”, as a part of the celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 7. The Computer Lab is fully equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities to impart both face-to-face and virtual training. The inauguration of the computer lab is a step in the direction of further upgrading the existing computer infrastructure of the Institute.

 “Telangana has been a front runner in proactively using  information technology for the effective delivery of citizen-centric services. Imparting continuous training to employees at all rungs of the hierarchy in order to keep their IT skill sets current and up-to-date is the need of the hourto further consolidate this leadership position of the State”, Acharya said, adding with a sense of pride, that the Institute covered a whopping 40,000 employees during the last two years for equipping them with the requisite IT skills by using e-Learning Modules of DoPT, Government of India. “Telangana has thereby emerged as a leader, across the country, in using the e-Learning Modules”, he stated.

B P Acharya recalled the saying of Mahatma Gandhi that India lives in its villages and advised the ISS and IES Officers, who recently completed their five-day visit to villages of Telangana, to equip the employees at grassroots levels with the IT skills, especially in the rural areas, in order to empower them to discharge their duties with a professional touch.

  1. Venkateswara Rao, IAS,  Harpreet Singh, IAS, Additional Directors General, and   Ayaluri Sridevi, Director (IT) and Head CIT, Dr MCR HRD Institute graced the occasion. A large number of officers, Faculty and Staff of the Institute also attended the event. (NSS)
