Hyderabad: Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, IAS, Secretary, ST Development, and Chairman, TS Girijan Cooperative Corporation Limited, conducted 5th TSGCC Board Meeting on Friday at his chambers in BRK Bhavan here.
The Chairman reviewed the activities of the Girijan Cooperative Corporation for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20 up to December 2019. The TSGCC, during the financial year 2018-19, achieved Rs 237.75 crore as against the target of Rs 250 crore. The Corporation has set a target of Rs 400 crore for the financial year 2019-20 and Rs 200.21 crore has achieved as against Rs 256.89 crore target up to December 2019 of current financial year 2019-20. He also reviewed audit status of TSGCC and instructed the officials to complete immediately to know the financial position of the corporation.
After bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh State, the TSGCC focused on rural industrialization to strengthen the Corporation. Its main focus was on Value Addition and Entrepreneurship Development through MSME Plan of the Centre to eradicate unemployment among the tribal youth.
The TSGCC established Glycerine soap and Shampoo making units at Bhadrachalam and Utnoor through Joint Liability Group (JLGs) and Detergent soap making unit at Eturunagaram. To create more employability for tribals in the agency areas, the TSGCC proposed to establish 21 petrol outlets and as on today, five petrol outlets have started functioning in Mulkalapally, Gundala in Bhadrachalam Division, Kothaguda in Eturunagaram Division, and Kerameri and Tiryani in Utnoor Division.
The Chairman also reviewed the progress of Millets based food processing unit of Nutribasket, Dal Processing Unit and Chikky Making Units in ITDA of Utnoor, Eturunagaram and Bhadrachalam in collaboration with ICRISAT. To have vigilance on activities of TSGCC, V. Rojarani, Dy Registrar, has been taken on deputation from the office of the Commissioner, RCS as Vigilance Officer from December 2019 and approved.
TSGCC Ltd Board Member Dr Christina Z Chongtu, IAS, Commissioner/VC & Managing Director, TSGCC; R. Sidhanand Kukrety, IFS, Addl. PCF; N. Sridhar, Dy Registrar, Office of Registrar of Cooperative Societies; V. Sarveshwara Reddy, Addl. Director/General Manager (FAC), TSGCC, were also present.
