Nestled at the foot of Mount Uhud, north of Madinah, Al-Fas’h Mosque stands as a significant historical landmark, deeply tied to the Battle of Uhud, a pivotal event in Islamic history. According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, Al-Fas’h Mosque holds a special place in Islamic history as it is believed to be the site where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once prayed. This sacred connection continues to attract visitors and pilgrims from around the world, eager to witness its historical significance.
Historian Dr. Fouad Al-Maghamsi emphasized the mosque’s importance within the broader historical landscape of Uhud, which includes landmarks such as Jabal Al-Rumah and Wadi Qanat. Also known as Uhud Mosque or Sha’b Al-Jerar Mosque, Al-Fas’h has been carefully preserved over the centuries.

The mosque, originally constructed with resilient black stones, measures approximately six meters in length and four meters in width. Enclosed by a one-meter-high stone wall on three sides, the structure has withstood the test of time through numerous restorations.
The latest restoration, overseen by the Saudi Heritage Commission, has introduced several enhancements while maintaining the mosque’s original charm. A wooden roof has been installed, while the floor now features artistically arranged yellow natural stones. Additionally, the surrounding areas have been paved, and seating arrangements and informative signage have been added to enrich visitors’ experience.
Situated approximately 4.5 km north of Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, also known as the Prophet’s Mosque, Al-Fas’h Mosque is located in an area deeply rooted in Islamic heritage. It lies just 800 meters from the historic Uhud battlefield, further cementing its significance as a key religious and historical site in Madinah.
