In a terrible occurrence in Nizamabad, a 31-year-old man named Krishna was mercilessly axed to death by his wife, Ganga, after frequent fights and domestic violence prompted by his alcohol addiction.
Krishna and Ganga had been married six years and had a five-year-old son. Their relationship, however, worsened over time due to Krishna’s continuous alcohol addiction, which resulted in frequent squabbles between the pair. While under the influence of alcohol, he frequently exposed Ganga to physical assault.
The situation became so grave that Ganga decided to leave Krishna and return to her parents’ home in Nizamabad’s Chandrashekhar Colony. Despite the split, Krishna continued to torture her, including assauling her at her parents’ house while intoxicated.
Tensions reached a deadly culmination on a fateful night when Krishna returned to Ganga’s parents’ home and physically assaulted her. Frustrated and concerned for Ganga’s safety, her parents replied by hurling chilli powder into Krishna’s eyes. Taking advantage of the situation, Ganga whacked him in the head with an axe, killing him.

The Nizamabad South Zone rural police arrested Ganga, her mother-in-law, and father-in-law in response to the event. A case has been filed under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (murder), and additional investigation is proceeding.
