All party leaders demand launching of Metro Rail works in Old city

Hyderabad: Leaders of several political parties staged a protest rally demanding that the State government launch Metro Rail works in the Old City and complete the works on warpath.

The political leaders of the CPI, CPM, Congress, BJP and YSRCP conducted a protest rally from Charminar to Falaknuma. They carried placards and flags demanding that the State government construct the Metro Rail in the Old City. However, the police obstructed the rally and arrested the protesters.

The JAC leaders said the State government cannot stop their movements by arrests. They alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao failed to honor his word given in the Assembly that the Metro Rail project will be taken up in Old City at any cost. They also alleged that both the MIM and TRS parties were deliberately obstructing development of Old City. (NSS)
