In a significant development at the World Economic Forum 2025, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu secured a major investment commitment from Amazon Web Services (AWS). The global tech giant has agreed to invest ₹60,000 crore to expand its data center infrastructure in Telangana, solidifying Hyderabad’s position as a key hub for cloud services in India.
The breakthrough was achieved during a high-level meeting with AWS Global Public Policy Vice President Michael Punke. The discussions highlighted Telangana’s strategic importance for AWS’s operations in India and the state government’s efforts to create a business-friendly environment for the tech industry.
With this new investment, AWS will significantly expand its presence in Hyderabad, which already hosts three operational data centers developed with an investment of $1 billion. The AWS region in Hyderabad is set to play a pivotal role in the company’s cloud services growth in India, including future advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). This move builds upon AWS’s earlier commitment to invest $4.4 billion by 2030 in Telangana.
