Andhra Government decided to open colleges from 15 Oct

Amravati: The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to open the colleges from October 15. Chief Minister Jagan‌ Mohan Reddy today held a review meeting with the higher officials. Several key decisions were taken on this occasion.

The CM directed to conduct the joint entrance examinations in September.  He directed the authorities to take strict action against the colleges which are committing irregularities. He suggested that the gross enrollment should be taken up to 90 percent and steps should be taken to get 10 months apprenticeship in three years and four-year degree courses. He was also given the green signal for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in Universities in Andhra Pradesh.

CM Jagan said that we are supporting higher studies through fee reimbursement and accommodation. This will increase the gross enrollment ratio. He said that changes should be made in the curriculum and apprenticeship should be included in the degree course. The three-year degree course includes a 10-month apprenticeship. Besides, there will be one year of training on skills development and employment, after which it will be considered as a degree honors. There will be 10 months of mandatory apprenticeship for 4 years even for vocational degrees. He pointed out the government is spending over 6000 crores for repairing old medical college buildings.

Officials told the chief minister that a cluster university was being set up in Kurnool. We are taking steps for the University of Architecture in Kadapa. CM gives a green signal to open the Telugu and Sanskrit academies and directed to take steps to start tribal engineering college works. He ordered to take steps to set up universities in Prakasam and Vijayanagaram districts.
