Sangareddy: Deeply depressed by his wife deserting him a month ago, an alcoholic turned his ire towards his children and strangulated his two children and attacked eldest daughter with a knife causing grievous injuries.
According to the Ramachandrapuram police, accused Kumar, 40, strangled to death his seven-year-old son Akhil and four-year-old daughter Sharanya on Tuesday midnight. Later, he attacked his eldest daughter 10-year old Malliswari with a knife and caused grievous injuries. This bizarre incident occurred in Bombay Colony in Ramachandrapuram Mandal of Sangareddy District.
Police said the accused, who does petty works for a living was living with his wife and three children in Bombay Colony. As he was quarreling with his wife Gouri frequently, his vexed wife deserted him and her children and went to her parental house last month. Unable to look after the children, Kumar strangulated his youngest daughter and son to death. However, the eldest Malleshwari attempted to escape from the clutches of her father, but Kumar attacked her with a knife. Malleshwari suffered grievous injuries and battling for life at a hospital. The incident has created a sensation in the area. The police have shifted the bodies to Area Hospital, Patancheru for post mortem. (NSS)
