Arbaaz Khan- “Taking legal action against Dabangg’s director on allegations of harassment”

Mumbai: Actor Arbaaz Khan told the media that he and his family will be taking the legal resort and file a case against Director Abhinav Kashyap who accused Salman Khan and the rest of the Khan clan for harassing and bulling him. Mr. Kashyap, who had directed the 2010 hit movie Dabangg with Salman and Arbaaz Khan, wrote a lengthy post on facebook talking about how the Khan brothers sabotaged his 2013 film Besharam.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, Arbaaz khan said that he doesn’t know where Mr. Kashyap’s allegations are “coming from” as they had not worked with him after Dabangg, with Arbaaz khan himself directing Dabangg 2. He also said that the Khan family had taken legal action against him once prior to this as well.

“We have had no communication with Abhinav since we started working on Dabangg 2. We parted ways professionally. Don’t know where all this coming from. We are taking legal action,” Arbaaz Khan told Hindustan Times. “We have already taken legal action even before this post; it was after his earlier post,” Arbaaz Khan told Hindustan Times.

The head of the kin, Salim Khan brushed off the issue saying that he wont “waste time” in reacting to the accusations.

“Let him do whatever he wants, I am not going to waste time in reacting to what he says,” Salim Khan said in a conversation with Bombay Times.

Abhinav Kashyap posted a long note on Facebook on June 15th and spoke about his reason of quitting Dabangg 2. According to Mr. Kashyap, the Khans were “trying to control (his) career by bullying (him).”

In his post, he also accused the family of trying to stop his movie Besharam from getting released and that when the movie did, they interfered with its box office business. Apart from this, he alleged of receiving texts consisting of threats from the Khans.

Mr. Kashyap, in the post, also requested the government for a detailed investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. The reason for his extreme step was contributed to his depression because of the bollywood clashes and professional rivalry which snatched many of his roles from him as he was an outsider and had no reference or relation with a top celebrity.

After his demise, many Bollywood celebrities including Tapsee Pannu, Vivek Oberoi and Raveena Tandon got vocal about their own experiences in the film industry which only caters to people who have connections with stars. The social media websites were flooded with angry posts about the treatment given to actors who land in Bollywood without any backing.
