Hyderabad: The AIMIM chief said the BJP leadership knows that Article 370 cannot be scrapped as it is the bridge between India and Kashmir. The Article 370 was drafted in the presence of great statesman Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and BJP ideologue Shyamaprasad Mukherjee. He also said Narendra Modi and the BJP Government at the Centre should not forget that Nagaland and Mizoram are protected with Article 370.
Regarding the implementation of Uniform Civil Code, Owaisi said Uniform Civil Code cannot be implemented in India as the Law Commission was against the idea. On the Babri Masjid issue, Owaisi said after demolition of the Mosque, no government became petitioner in the Court of Law, but for the first time, the Government of Uttar Pradesh changed its stance and filed an affidavit in the Apex Court seeking to give surplus land which shows that the government has forgotten its constitutional duty.
Asaduddin Owaisi also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to deliver “Achhe Din” to people, in providing two crore jobs and enforced demonetization of big currency notes. On the issue of 12% reservation to Minorities in Telangana State, Asaduddin Owaisi said the TRS government has sent a resolution passed in the State Legislative Assembly urging the Union Government to look into the matter. But, the Centre till now has taken no decision. When the State demanded reservation on social and educational backwardness it was overlooked even as an amendment was made in the Constitution to provide reservation on economic grounds.
Regarding All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen stand on Bihar and Uttar Pradesh elections, Owaisi said his party would not contest in Uttar Pradesh and the people will vote for Mahagatbandan candidates, while we will contest the Kishangunj Lok Sabha constituency in Seemanchal Bihar. He also said he wanted to see that BJP lose elections in Bihar.(NSS)
