Assistant Professor of National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD) was arrested by the Rajendranagar police for allegedly molesting a 49-year old woman, his senior.
Based on a complaint lodged by a woman, also head (in-charge) of the Centre for Equity and Social Development at the institute in April last, that her junior molesting and abusing her in the name of caste, Satyaranjan Mahakul was arrested, Rajendranagar police said here.
The 40-year-old Mahakul was arrested after investigation and a case on charges of outraging the modesty under relevant sections of IPC and under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered against him, police added.
