Bajaj has launched the Pulsar NS400Z in India, starting at a price of Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most powerful Pulsar model yet. Here’s what sets this motorcycle apart from the rest of the Pulsar lineup:
The Pulsar NS400Z features a design that builds upon the NS200’s aesthetics, with a bold headlight featuring large, thunderbolt-style daytime running lights (DRLs) and a LED projector lamp. Following the impressive intensity and spread of the Pulsar N250’s headlight, the NS400Z’s headlight is expected to deliver equal, if not superior, performance. The motorcycle boasts a large fuel tank with well-integrated tank extensions and carbon fiber detailing on the radiator shroud.
While the side and tail sections resemble the NS200, the NS400Z has a sharper, more distinct profile. The tail light is similar to the NS200’s, though some enthusiasts were hoping for a more distinct design.

As the new flagship Pulsar, the NS400Z is packed with features including all-LED lights, switchable traction control, and four riding modes—Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-road. These modes adjust throttle response and ABS intervention levels. Additionally, the bike includes adjustable levers for enhanced customization.
The instrument cluster is a new digital LCD unit with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the rider to pair a smartphone using a dedicated app. Once connected, the display shows incoming calls, missed calls, SMS notifications, and turn-by-turn navigation.
Under the hood, the NS400Z is powered by the 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the Dominar 400. It delivers 39.4bhp at 8,800rpm and 35Nm at 6,500rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch.
The bike’s perimeter frame is equipped with a 43mm USD fork in front and a gas-charged, preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as a standard feature.
At a starting price of Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) as an introductory offer, the Pulsar NS400Z offers exceptional value for money, standing out as a near 400cc, street-naked motorcycle at this price point. In terms of competitors, the NS400Z fits between the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Triumph Speed 400.
