The Balanagar Police have successfully solved the murder case of Krishna alias Kittu, a 42-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, who was brutally killed on January 30, 2025. The police arrested four individuals on Saturday in connection with the crime, which was reportedly driven by a prior enmity.
The arrested suspects include A Krishna from Gajularamaram, M Ravi, G Naresh, and G Shankar, all residents of Santathnagar. All the accused are also auto-rickshaw drivers, with whom the victim had a previous altercation.
According to the police, the murder was the result of a long-standing dispute between the victim and the suspects regarding the repair of an auto self-motor. Tensions between the two parties escalated to a point where the prime suspect, Krishna, and the others devised a plan to kill Kittu. On the day of the murder, they lured him into a trap.

The suspects offered the victim a ride in an auto-rickshaw to a temple in Edupayala, where they made him consume liquor. After incapacitating him, they proceeded to brutally beat him. Following the attack, they transported his lifeless body to a secluded spot near Khaitan Company Road in Balanagar, where they continued the assault. After confirming Kittu’s death, they abandoned his body and fled the scene.
The Balanagar Police, upon receiving a complaint, initiated an investigation and used surveillance cameras to track down the suspects. The police were able to identify and apprehend the four individuals based on the evidence gathered.
During the investigation, one auto-rickshaw and a mobile phone were seized from the suspects. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with further details expected in the coming days.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of unresolved conflicts, and the Balanagar Police have vowed to continue their efforts to ensure justice for the victim and his family.
