The banks from the state will function only till afternoon in the state by keeping in view of a sudden spike in Covid 19 virus cases. They will function from morning 10 am to afternoon 2 pm.
The decision has been taken by State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting. The decision has come into force from Friday. The committee has said that the timings would be in force till May 15. The committee has however made it clear that the bank managements from different districts were vested with powers to take decisions on the basis of the prevailing situation in their districts.

The committee has left the decision of allowing the bank employees to work from home to the management of the different banks.
It said that currency chests, vendors who deposit cash in ATMs, ATM bank offices, clearing, bank treasury, forex bank, and swift Centers of the banks would function in a usual manner. Meanwhile, the SLBC has urged the state government to administer the Covid 19 vaccine to all the bank employees of the state.
It asked the lead district managers to make efforts in the issue and coordinate with local government administration for the administration of the vaccine.

The Convenor of the SLBC K. Brahmananda Reddy urged the bank employees to ensure that their family members also took the vaccine.
