Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to virtually inaugurate three newly redeveloped railway stations in Telangana on Thursday, highlighting a significant push towards modernizing India’s railway infrastructure. The stations—Begumpet, Warangal, and Karimnagar—are part of the Amrit Bharat Station initiative aimed at upgrading passenger amenities and preserving local culture.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, announced on Wednesday that the Prime Minister will dedicate these stations to the public at 9:30 AM, joining about 100 other stations being inaugurated nationwide. The event underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing travel experiences and improving railway services across India.
Notably, Begumpet station will be the first all-women-operated railway station in the South-Central Railway (SCR) zone, marking a milestone in empowering women in the railways. Each station, including Begumpet, Karimnagar, and Warangal, has undergone redevelopment with an estimated investment of Rs 25 crore per station. The upgrades feature modern passenger facilities while also reflecting the unique local culture and heritage of Telangana.
Railway authorities confirmed that all arrangements are in place to welcome public representatives and citizens for the inauguration, which is expected to boost regional connectivity and passenger convenience.
