Beware of Divisive Forces Using Sep 17 for Selfish Politics: KCR to Citizens

On Saturday, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao warned the people of the state not to fall into the rabbit hole of hatred caused by divisive forces using September 17 as a platform for ‘narrow, selfish politics’.

He made the remarks during his speech at the Telangana National Integration Day celebrations in Hyderabad, which were organized by the state government. Additionally, he unfurled the National Flag a few minutes after Union Minister Amit Shah hoisted it at the city’s parade grounds to mark “Hyderabad Liberation Day”.

Best wishes to the people of Telangana on this auspicious occasion of the state’s merger with the Union of India. Our nation recently celebrated its 75th anniversary of independence in a way that engendered patriotism among its citizens. The celebration of Integration Day is a continuation of the same, he said.

The chief minister pointed out that the people of Telangana have fought, strategized, and sacrificed many times in the past for the sake of democracy. There were many who participated in the struggle during those warring days. There were some who led violent fights and others who ignited social and cultural fires. Komaram Bheem brought the Adivasis of Adilabad together by playing the Tudum instrument in the forests of Adilabad. Let us remember his adventurous spirit, he said.

He reminded people of the great figures who played an important role in the fight for freedom in Telangana’s history.

Furthermore, the chief minister thanked writers for standing up against authoritarianism and inspiring people through their writings.

As a result of achieving statehood eight years ago, Telangana has made significant progress, he said. He listed the state government’s achievements in various sectors, from industries to forests, and said Telangana’s face has changed dramatically.
