A birthday celebration in Kukatpally turned violent when a 23-year-old history-sheeter, Syed Sahid, was brutally stabbed to death by two of his friends during a drunken brawl in the early hours.
Sahid, a resident of Pandit Nehru Nagar in Allapur and a known history-sheeter at the Allapur police station, was the son of late Wahed Pahelwan, who was also a history-sheeter from Borabanda.
According to Kukatpally Inspector P Rajesh, the incident took place at an open ground behind Devishtan Villas in Prakash Nagar. Sahid had joined friends Pawan, Sameer, Munna, and Sajid for a birthday party on Sunday evening.

“After cutting the cake, Pawan and Sameer left the spot. Sahid stayed back with Munna and Sajid, and the three consumed liquor,” said Inspector Rajesh. During the drinking session, an argument broke out between Sahid and the two others over an unspecified issue.
In a sudden fit of rage, Munna and Sajid attacked Sahid. They broke beer bottles and stabbed him in the throat, following which they bludgeoned him to death with a boulder.
Both accused have been taken into custody. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
