Hyderabad: Lauding the Modi government for making SC, ST atrocity prevention Act further more stringent and formation of national BC commission, city BJP leaders poured and washed Dr B R Ambekar statue with milk at Tankband.
Speaking on the occasion, city BJP president and MLC N Ramachander Rao said opposition parties have levelled allegations against BJP though it has no connection with the amendment as supreme court has amended the Act. The central government is committed to make the Act more stringent and efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was appreciated by the people. It was a historical decision of Modi government, the BJP MLC said.
Chinta Samba Murthy said Narendra Modi government is committed for welfare of Dalits in the country. The central government has moved SC ST atrocity prevention Act for making it more stringent and protect the rights of downtrodden, he said. Murthy said earlier SC ST atrocity prevention has only 23 subjects, but now after amendment in the Act, it has 49 subjects.
Former MLA Baddam Balreddy, SC morcha state general secretary Gangaraju, media committee convenor Sudhakar Sharma, BJP state office in-charge Dasari Mallesh and others participated in the programme.(NSS)
