BJP MLA booked by police on charges for revealing the identity of Jubilee Hills gangrape victim

During a press conference last week at the BJP head office, Raghunandan Rao displayed a video and a photograph to the media, claiming that it proved the presence of a son of the AIMIM MLA in the car with the victim. The police were allegedly trying to save the son of an MLA, he alleged.

The video clip was shared by several people after its release. In addition, two YouTubers were booked to show the clips. Several political leaders and activists criticized Raghunandan Rao for disclosing the identity of the victim for political purposes, regardless of their party affiliation.

As per the Indian Penal Code, Rao has been charged under Section 228A, which deals with the disclosure of the identity of the victim.

After attending a pub party at Jubilee Hills ten days ago, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five people in her car. She was told they would drop her off at home. The case has so far led to four arrests.

Sexual assault on another minor in a car

Hyderabad seems to be haunted by rapes of minors, as another orphanage inmate was sexually assaulted in a car on Necklace Road by a friend. The suspect was arrested by the Ramgopalpet police according to the police, the victim, who lives in an orphanage in the city, met Suresh, 23, in April and had been in touch ever since. e then. On the evening of April 20, the victim, along with a few others, left the hostel to attend a friend’s birthday party at Necklace Road.

Suresh also came to the venue under the pretext of talking to the victim, and on the pretext of taking her in a car and sexually assaulting the victim. When the victim returned to her hostel, the Ramgopalpet police reported that the victim developed some health issues and the hostel staff discovered the sexual assault.

The guardians of the victim filed a complaint with the Mehdipatnam police station, after which the police booked a zero FIR and transferred it to the Ramgopalpet police station since the crime was committed on Necklace Road. Suresh was arrested and taken to court, where he was remanded in custody.
