Hyderabad: Bandi Sanjay, Karimnagar MP and BJP Senior leader, alleged that there was a huge scam in the Mining department across the Telangana state.
Addressing the media today along with the BJP media coordinator Sudhakara Sharma and other senior leaders here, Sanjay said Granite business benefited only Businessmen, government officials and Ruling party leaders . Granite business is the major source of revenue for the Telangana State.
He said the TRS had criticized the Congress party over granite before it (TRS) came to power. The mining authorities have issued notices for payment of increased tax of Rs 749,66,76,882.
He expressed anguish that Villages are being damaged by granite excavations from illegal quarries.
He also said that the quantum of granite sent from the railway to the shipyard varies considerably from that of the granite to the railways.
When the authorities issued notices to eight mines in 2008, the owners have not yet responded. He pointed out that the Chinese government has imposed penalty after realizing that there are irregularities in mining in Telangana.
He said that Roads are being damaged by mining. He said he would complain to the Union ministers regarding mining irregularities.
The government is concerned that the mining matter is in the court. He criticized that Mining traders are becoming monarchs. He lashed out at the government, for not taking any action, as the ministers and public figures of the TRS party are in the mining business.
He pointed out that Mining traders threatened regimes to bring down governments.
He said the new mining minister has lifted the check posts and that TRS leaders turning into syndicates and start business with zero investment.
He said that he would meet the Governor in the matter of mining, and also file a petition in the court seeking CBI inquiry in to the mining issue. He challenged that if the government has integrity, it should ask for CBI investigation.(NSS)
