BJP, TRS trying to do West Bengal experiment in Telangana: Revanth Reddy

On Wednesday, TPCC president A. Revant Reddy claimed that their political rivals, the BJP and TRS, were trying to conduct a similar experiment, which was carried out in West Bengal, in Telangana State by resorting to violence in the Munugodu Assembly constituency. He urged party leaders, workers, and citizens to remain vigilant about the situation.

Reddy told media in Munugodu that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi during his visit and planned to visit Munugodu with a large convoy. He predicted that there would be unrest in the constituency as soon as the visit of the CM.

He also claimed that TRS party leaders planned to stage protests in front of the Election Commission’s office and incite separate Telangana State sentiment as part of the conspiracy.

In his explanation of the conspiracy, he stated that the CRPF forces would attack TRS party activists, prompting the State police to attack BJP activists as part of the conspiracy. He stated that the BJP and the Trinamool Congress party carried out similar plans in West Bengal and succeeded in eradicating all other political parties from the state map, while noting that the unrest created by the two parties aided the BJP in becoming the main Opposition party in West Bengal.

Revanth Reddy targeted the Election Commission of India, asking the authorities concerned as to how the ruling TRS party’s symbol was brought to the second position in the ballot paper instead of the fourth position?

Revanth Reddy took strong exception to the way the Election Commission prepared the list after the TRS was assigned the second position on the electronic voting machines (EVMs) to be used in the November 3 byelection.

He claimed that the TRS was being treated as a national party by the ECI. Previously, the TRS was given the fourth slot, he said, urging the poll panel to reconsider its decision. He believes that national parties should be given the pride of place.
