It was reported on Tuesday that the body of a newborn boy had been dumped in the women’s washroom at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Police say the incident occurred when workers were performing plumbing work and regular maintenance in the lady’s washroom at the C-Level of the passenger terminal. Workers discovered the infant’s body decomposing in the washroom after noticing a foul smell.
Based on the information provided by airport authorities, the police suspect the child died two days ago.
“The child is suspected of having died soon after birth and the body could have been dumped there,” an official said, adding that a case had been filed under Section 318 of the Indian Penal Code for concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead bodies.

Telangana woman claims her baby died due to police stopping cars over challans
An ailing Telangana mother alleges that traffic police stopped their car over pending challans, causing the car to be delayed, and preventing her child from receiving medical care in time.
Their rental car was stopped by traffic police near Vangapally village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district when Saraswathi and Mallesham were taking their baby to Niloufer Hospital in Hyderabad.
They were forced to wait more than 30 minutes for nearly 30 challans after police insisted the driver pay the pending challans on the vehicle, despite Saraswathi’s pleas to take her child to the hospital. Doctors told them the child could not be saved by the time they reached the hospital.
