Hyderabad: The 2020-21 Budget session of Telangana State will begin on March 6, with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan addressing a joint session at 11 am.

This time, the government is likely to come up with a budget of Rs 1.60 lakh crore as against Rs 1.46 lakh crore in the previous year. This time, it will be around 10 percent and more budget despite slump and GST effect on the State finances.

While Finance Minister T Harish Rao will present the budget in the Assembly on March 8, it will be presented by any minister in the council like G Jagadish Reddy or Sabitha Indra Reddy. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao invited the Governor to address the joint session. The BAC will decide on the number of working days of the session.

KCR has said the budget will fulfill the aspirations of all categories of people. The Chief Minister was unhappy with the Centre on the impact of economic slowdown and delay in release of GST arrears. Though the welfare, irrigation, flagship programs get top priority in the budget with allocations. Prominent sectors are to get major allocations like health,  education,  rythu bandhu,  rythu bhima and others.  The session will pass a bill for new revenue act and also a resolution against CAA.
