Case against Revanth not political: Advocate

Hyderabad: Advocate Immaneni Ramarao has made it clear that IT raids on TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy’s houses was not politically motivated. He said the ED was conducting raids with the help of IT officials following a complaint lodged by him.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, Ramarao said he concentrated on Revanth Reddy’s shell companies following a complainant’s approach to him. He said he lodged a complaint with the CBI on July 24 on Revanth issue and the IT raids were going on in the process. He also alleged that Revanth Reddy earned Rs 300 to 400 crore through 19 shell companies. He said uncountable assets will be exposed in the IT raids conducted at 15 places simultaneously.

Immaneni Ramarao said Revanth Reddy indulged in land encroachments through Sai Mourya and Sai Magadha real estate firms. He informed that another new name Avalanches came to the fore in the ED raids. He said Revanth Reddy didn’t respond to the notices served on him by the ED 15 days ago following tax evasion and land irregularities.

However, Ramarao declined to respond on the questions raised by mediapersons that he (Ramarao) was facing 32 cases. He also said former MLA Stefenson was his close friend and made it clear that there was no political conspiracy in filing the case against Revanth Reddy.

Contradicting his own statement that there was no motive behind his case against Revanth Reddy, in a Telugu television channel debate, Ramarao said he targeted Revanth Reddy for criticizing one particular community in the State that belongs to him. (NSS)
