Hyderabad : Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawath who led a team of 11 members today arrived in the city for a three-day visit for the upcoming Assembly polls. Rawath who descended at International Airport was closeted with CEO Rajat Kumar and discussed on the poll arrangements in all districts. Later conducted a meeting with nine political parties at Hotel Taj Krishna and discussed on the poll preparedness. He is understood to have sought the cooperation of the political parties and leaders for smooth and fair conduct of the Assembly polls on Dec 7.
Rawath informed the political parties that the election code of conduct is being enforced and will take serious action against flow of illegal money and liquor. He is scheduled to hold parleys with Rajat Kumar, Police Nodal Officer Jithender and other officials later in the evening. On Tuesday the CEC team will hold meetings with District Election Officers (DEOs), SPs, DIG and IGs to take stock of poll arrangements. Rawath team will meet on Wednesday with IT officials and Enforcement DIGs from 10 am to 11 am and then with Chief Secretary SK Joshi from 11.15 am to 1 noon.
