Hyderabad: Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar has invoked P.D. Act provisions against Mohd Majeed, a property offender of Afzalgunj University Police Station.
In a pressnote here today, Anjani Kumar said Mohd Majeed, 23, of Hasan Nagar under Rajendra Nagar police limits has been committing theft of cell phones along with his associates by diverting attention of passengers traveling in sharing auto rickshaws on pretext of adjusting seats in an organized manner in the limits of Hyderabad Police Commissionerates. He committed 22 such offences and has been creating fear among the general public, who wish to travel in sharing auto rickshaws and they were scared to carry cellphones, cash and other valuables, thereby adversely affecting the public order apart from disturbing peace, tranquility and social harmony in the society.
Afzalgunj Police arrested the accused Mohd Majeed on February 2, 2018 and remanded him to judicial custody. The Detention Order was executed on him on August 11, 2018 and he was lodged in Central Prison, Chanchalguda. (NSS)
