Agriculture Minister of Telangana today expressed displeasure that the Centre was not ready to Procure paddy from the state and asked it to export.
There is a need for the farmers to take up alternative crops and the government will not procure paddy from them in the next Yasangi season. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has more commitment for the farmers than any others he said and slammed the opposition parties for false politics.
The farmers can take up paddy crops if they have any understanding of the millers and marketing. The government is not able to procure the same in Yasangi he clarified talking to presspersons at Ministers quarters with Civil Supplies Minister G Kamalakar. Niranjan Reddy informed that the government will not purchase paddy from next Yasangi season.
However, this rainy season crops will be procured from the farmers who should not worry, he said and asked them to alternate crops. The Centre has to procure stocks and deny, he said. He said that the farmers who have links with seed companies and millers can go for paddy cropping. Due to moisture in Yasangi crops the center is not ready to procure it, he said.

Last year the farmers in the state failed to grow cotton in more acres as suggested by the government he said. The Minister said that we are providing purchase centers in all districts and mandals.
The farmers should take up alternate crops to get benefits as the Centre is not ready to get our crops. The Centre is asking us to export the produce which is not correct, the Minister said adding that the farmers can wait and give their produce at the purchase centers.
There is no need for panic among the farmers who should take up other crops than paddy. There are some problems to clear the stocks from the farmers and political parties should stop politicizing the issue, he said. The agriculture activities are involved with a huge number of people like procuring, marketing, milling, shifting and transport, and others, he said. The government is ready to set up more purchase centers and there is no inconvenience, the Minister assured.

We are urging the farmers to take up other crops than the paddy and ensure that they get more benefits in the future, the Minister said. Niranjan Reddy said that the state will meet with union fertilizers Ministers to deliver adequate stocks of urea and other fertilizers to the state. KCR has asked the Centre to procure the paddy and farmers to take up other crops to get more benefits. There is a need for demand-based and need-based crops to be sown in the state, he said.
