Chandrababu Naidu Set to Become Andhra Pradesh CM on June 9

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 9, according to party sources.

The TDP-led alliance is poised for a sweeping victory, leading in 158 out of 175 Assembly constituencies, setting the stage for Naidu to assume power once more in Andhra Pradesh.

At 74, Naidu will be taking the oath as Chief Minister for the fourth time. He previously served as the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004 and became the first Chief Minister of the residual state of Andhra Pradesh following its bifurcation in 2014.

On Tuesday, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleague Amit Shah on the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) imminent victory in the Lok Sabha polls. In turn, PM Modi and Amit Shah congratulated Naidu on the NDA alliance’s significant victory in Andhra Pradesh.

The NDA, which includes the TDP, BJP, and Janasena party, is heading for a landslide victory in the state, securing one seat and leading in 157 of the 175-member state assembly segments.
