As Telangana prepares for assembly elections, Cheif Minister and BRS head K. Chandrasekhar Rao is said to be dissatisfied with the performance of the Minority Welfare Department and minority institutions. According to a combination of poll results, this discomfort might be connected to rising anger among Muslim voters, who make up a sizable voting majority in the state.
Muslims are dissatisfied.
Unfulfilled promises and a perceived lack of competent plan execution have contributed to discontent among Telangana’s Muslim minority. This has fueled fears that Muslim people may vote against the ruling BRS party in the forthcoming elections.
Minority Leaders Lack Confidence
Inquiries into the root causes of this unhappiness have indicated that Muslim leaders representing the BRS and those in government positions have failed to acquire the Muslim population’s trust.

Issues of Transparency and Implementation
Despite a considerable spending of over Rs 10,000 crore on minority welfare over the previous decade, officials warned the Chief Minister that a lack of transparency in the administration of these initiatives has resulted in eligible Muslim households being denied their promised benefits.
Minority Finance Corporation has reached a standstill.
The Minority Finance Corporation’s performance has apparently plateaued during the previous seven years. Despite receiving almost five lakh applications for the bank-linked subsidy plan on two consecutive occasions, many qualified candidates have yet to get aid.
Alleged Inconsistencies
In the run-up to the elections, the government introduced a Rs 1,000,000 aid program with a 100% subsidy for the poor, similar to the Dalit Bandhu plan. However, there have been allegations of anomalies in the beneficiary selection process, including assertions that names proposed by MLAs were put on the list, which has raised worries among ministers and MLAs.
Funds Mismanagement
Discrepancies were also identified during the Minority Finance Corporation’s distribution of sewing machines to women, with claims of cash diversion in the scheme’s tender allocation.
Request for a Comprehensive Report
In response to these allegations, the Chief Minister has directed that a full report on various minority programs be prepared. The study will contain a comprehensive review of people in charge of minority institutions, according to senior officials from the Chief Minister’s Office.
As elections near, the ruling party is under pressure to address the concerns of the minority population in order to gain their votes.
